TK Drive-In
Looking for a slice of nostalgia or want to experience something new as a family? Neligh is proud to have one of the two remaining and operating drive-ins in Nebraska. We are the home to TK Drive-In which shows two movies Friday and Saturday's Memorial Weekend through Labor Day. Come join us at dusk with your sleeping bag or a comfy chair and enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience!
The Mighty Elkhorn River!
The Elkhorn River runs through Neligh. This meandering, low flow, river is great for the kids to play in, tubing, tanking, four-wheeling, kayaking, and canoeing. It originates in the Sandhills of Nebraska and has shaped a gorgeous flat valley in the low, wandering hills of the area. This scenic beauty should not be missed!
Cowboy Trail
The Cowboy Trail is the nation’s longest rails-to-trail path stretching 195 miles from Norfolk to Valentine. Whether you want to partake in stunning scenery, bike, horseback ride, walk, or hit your morning jog on a spine-friendly path, the Cowboy Trail is right for you.
Fred Penn Park
Conveniently located off of Hwy-14, Fred Penn Park is home to our to 8 electric and water camping hookups that are $15 a day. This Park is a little more off the beaten path and offers sand volleyball courts as well as a popular fishing spot with a river view on the South side.
Riverside Park
Located along the Elkhorn River, Riverside Park offers an amazing scenic view of the river. It is also home to our Camping Pads, $15/Day - first come, first serve with electric and water hookups, sewage dump, and Wi-Fi access. Old school camping (tents) is also available for $5/Day - first come, first serve. Summertime in Neligh means pool time which is located in Riverside Park. The park is co-located with the Antelope County Fair Grounds which is a fantastic attraction during August.
The Pavilion in Riverside Park is available for rental for business gatherings, reunions, weddings, or private parties. Click here for the rental form or call 402-887-4066.
Neligh Pool
The Neligh pool is open when temperatures are above 74 degrees. The pool is open 6 days a week (during the season), 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Family passes are available for $150 per season and individual passes costing $80 per season. Daily entry fees are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for students, and $1.00 for children 4 and under. Private and public swimming lessons, water aerobics, and pool parties are offered. Grove Lake Wildlife Management Area
Good fishing, scenery, and wildlife viewing are some of the big draws for the Grove Lake Wildlife Management Area, near Royal, Nebraska - just 20 miles from Neligh. The lake contains big, large-mouth bass and northern pike. Brown trout can be found in surrounding creeks. Grove Lake Fish Hatchery is located south of the area and releases 200 rainbow trout weekly. Campsites are available with restrooms and drinking water but no hookups.
Red Wing Wildlife Management Area
Only 2.5 miles west of Neligh, this rustic management area features 320 acres that include 1.5 miles of Elkhorn River frontage. You'll find a beautiful wooded area with some grassland and marshes. A great place to launch a canoe or kayak or just play in the river with the family!
Ashfall Fossil Beds
Located a mere 29 miles northwest of Neligh, Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park offers a paleontologist experience where your family can experience an active dig for fossils. You’ll find hundreds of prehistoric animal skeletons in volcanic ash. Two buildings have been constructed at the site: a Visitor Center featuring interpretive displays along with a working fossil preparation laboratory and a Rhino Barn covering a portion of the fossil bearing ash bed.
Aquaventure
Thirty miles east of Neligh, in Norfolk, you’ll find a brand new water park, featuring a 310 foot long raft slide, a Water Play Station with over 20 water features, a wave pool, shooting geysers, water cannons, and much more. Just one more thing that makes Neligh's small town living complete with some big city comforts!
