Power Production

The City of Neligh has had the foresight to produce its own power. In 2011, it installed a 6.5 megawatt Biodiesel Electric Generation Plant, one of a kind in Nebraska. This allows us to be self sustaining during emergency situations by providing power to the entire town. The plant has also allowed the citizens of Neligh to skirt power price increases, somewhere around 18% in the past two years.
