In 2011, it installed a 6.5-megawatt Biodiesel Electric Generation Plant, one of a kind in Nebraska. This allows us to be self-sustaining during emergencies by providing power to the entire town. The plant has also allowed the citizens of Neligh to skirt power price increases, somewhere around 18% in the past two years.
