City Garbage and Recycling Pickup
The City of Neligh has a progressive city garbage program designed to entice our recycling program. There is a flat fee of $12 per month on your city bill that goes to pay for the City Compactor, Tree Dump, and curbside garbage and recycling collection. In order to have curbside garbage pickup you must purchase garbage bags or a garbage tote. Garbage bags may be purchased from the city office or at Thriftway Market at $3 per bag. This helps to encourage recycling - if you recycle more, you will need less garbage bags thus making your garbage bill lower. Residential garbage totes are also available for pickup from the city office at $20.00 per tote per month and will be billed on the utility bill.
- Curbside Pickup for garbage is every Monday by 8:00 AM. for East Highway 275 and every Tuesday by 8:00 A.M. for West Highway 275.
- Plastic tubs for recycling are available free of charge at the City Office. No recycling pick up if it is raining.
- Recycling items must be separated, click here for a list of acceptable recycling items.
