Antelope County Young Professionals Event
Being the new kid sucks! This problem gets compounded 10 fold in rural communities. It’s tough to penetrate into groups that have been together for years, even though they may be welcoming, it’s tough to fit in when you’re new to the community.
Neligh’s been blessed over the past six months to attract some very high quality individuals, from two new Physician Assistants to teachers to a new banker. We took a moment to count the new young professionals and by our count Neligh has welcomed 24 new young professionals in the past half year. We got to thinking, if there’s a lot of new young professionals in Neligh, I’ll bet there’s a quite a few more young professionals throughout Antelope County.
We think that’s cause to celebrate! We’re planning a little shindig to foster some networking. If you are “young” and a “professional,” we’d like to invite you to the Imperial II on Wednesday, September 14th with a social hour from 5-6 pm and a short interest gauging session from 6-7 pm. Please note, we have not put a solid definition on the words “young professional.” We will not administer a quiz to make sure you qualify upon entrance.
If you are, or know of, a young professional in Antelope County, please invite them to our Antelope County Young Professional’s Group interest meeting on September 14th. The Neligh Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring hors d’oeuvres and with a cash bar. The founder of Connecting Young Nebraskans will be present at 6 pm to spark a discussion regarding what a young professional’s group is and what it entails.
Please join us for drinks, food and fellowship. Let’s have a conversation!
